Thursday, July 15 - 8th Annual Gardiner 5K Classic Run/Walk & Barbeque, starting at 6:30 pm sharp at George Majestic Memorial Park to benefit the Gardiner Fire Department and the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Association.  For information and downloadable registration: www.townofgardiner.org or www.gardinerfireandrescue.org.

September 9 - Submission deadline for Rail Trail Photo Contest. Please keep those photos coming! Categories include seasons; reflection in a puddle or pond; animals, birds, insects; dogs or cats and their owners; horses and riders; photos by children up to 12; people using the Rail Trail; funniest photo.  Send photos in jpg format via email to: pangurban@hvi.net or mail  on a CD to Trina Greene, 1224 Old Ford Circle, New Paltz, NY 12561.  Exhibit opening: Sunday September 19th at Gardiner Library. 

Saturday, September 25 -The Wallkill Valley Railtrail Association and the Wallkill Valley Land Trust are cosponsoring Exploring the Rail Trail in Rosendale, 10:00 am. This two mile guided walk, the first Hudson Valley Ramble event on the northern extension of the Wallkill Valley Rai Trali, will be an opportunity to learn about the history and ecology of a beautiful and unusual part of the trail.  Limited to 15 participants. Register by September 22 by email: info@wallkillvalleylt.org or by phone: 845-255-2761.  Rain date: Sunday, September 26.
